....'As dazzling as a feather.' Huh? Are feathers normally associated with "dazzling"? Bright, colorful, soft, gentle. Those things, sure I can imagine. But "dazzling"? Eeeeh?

I think the plot idea is interesting, but the format is...VERY off-putting. I shall continue reading in the hope that things smooth out after some chapters with the story progressing. So far, though, it's sadly awkward to read. Every time a character's name would be listed, it would sort of jolt me out of getting to a state of immersion. Then, the manner in which the characters actually converse is incredibly...stilted. Even though it says that the Author is from an English-speaking country, I have to wonder if English is the Author's second or third language. If it is, that's okay. Perfectly understandable in that case. But if it's not, it honestly seems like the Author is INTENTIONALLY writing the story like they've done a bad translation job. It's...truly strange. I really do hope it gets better because I really do enjoy the idea of the story with what I'm seeing so far. 😣

If you're going to have the MC adopt another child, what was the point if said child is constantly being left out?! So many times MC mentions how she's a mother of 3 (you mean 4, remember the other child?!). Said child disappears and reappears constantly, with 30-40 chapters passing with no mention of where he is or anything. So far she's left him behind in a market, during a raid of rioters, and the in the mountains! Like, I don't understand! The idea of the original storylines protagonist becoming the adopted brother of the three villains isn't bad, I like it! But the the author just continuously ignores or deletes his presence from existence in the story! What was the point? Personally, if I was that child, I'd go straight to the police and report my adopted mother for abandoned and neglect! Is the author trying to say adopted children matter less than blood-related ones?!

It's pretty easy, but hard for most. I don't have much of a sweet tooth and I'm SURROUNDED by sugary treats all day long. So, on the rare occasions I WANT to devour sweets, I just visualize I'm eating the cakes, pastries, and candies that are all over my work place instead. It helps that I've got a vivid imagination. 😅
