In victorian times behavng like an uneducated itiod got you compared to an ape. This stems from darwins theory of evolution. If you behave like an idiot you have clearly not evolved enough, so you are an ape or in this case a curly haired baboon. This developed unfortunately also into a piece of racist propaganda because the african people were seen as dumber and as such several steps down in the evolutionary ladder (not my opinion, but history)

Eight punds of bread is not that much. Our family if six goes through 1 kg of bread every 2 to 3 days and that isbwith other things like cheese and sausage to add to the bread.
