It seems the author found a solution to two of my questions I have been having for a while: 1. How will Sunny be able to scout with shadows if they were beginning to be fragile during the Antarctica arc. 2. How will Sunny be able to train enough to challenge the ancient beings he will be coming up against soon. Heâs now got more durable shadows and the potential to train 7x faster, possibly 8x in the future. Not to mention that he could pull some time loop training when he goes back into the pyramid.
Actually, I would like to make a correction to my theory from the previous chapter. I am now starting to believe that he seven heroes may not have been the gods, but rather, the daemons themselves. Born into the world, and forced to sacrifice themselves along with their followers to keep the seal, and the nightmare, away. Thus the point of the Nightmares, to provide soul energy to the goddess trapped, to keep her from becoming fully corrupted and having the prison break. Thus the terrible secret of the daemons, is that they sacrificed everything, along with future generations, to keep the corruption away.
Not true, mentioned by one of the 9 after taking Nephis to her destination. Song about waking the Sleeping/Forgotten God
New big theory here (update from an old theory): Ok folks try to bring back some stuff we learned from the forgotten shore. 1. Sunny finds a corpse with Weaverâs mask with the same words written in this very cave âHail Weaver, Daemon of Fate, First Borne of the -unknown-â. This was found directly under the statue of the unknown goddess. 2. Sunny learns the story of the seven heroes and how they sacrificed many to repel the shadows. The seven heroes includes the Lord, the Slayer, the Builder, the Hunter, the Knight, the Priestess, and the Stranger (who held a shield and who we never saw their face, important details) 3.Sunny finds out that these heroes, decide to âby holding out their weaponsâsacrifice their people by and eventually themselves along with the a person who would act as a conduit to seal the darkness. This person had the same face as the mystery God in the temple. With these facts Iâd like to draw a conclusion. Each of these strangers were the origins of the Gods, a theory that I originally posted a long time ago. As each represent an aspect of their divinity. Storm= Priest, Knight = Warrior, Lord =Heart/Sun, Builder= Heart/Sun, Slayer= Death, Hunter= Beast. Finally we have the last piece Stranger = Forgotten/Dream. These Gods/heroes would eventually seal the Void within the Forgotten God/Stranger, who would produce offspring, the Daemons, to take avenge her. This starts to fall into play when you analyze certain aspects. For one, the arc is literally called âForgottenâ Shore, kind of on the nose now. Two, the story told to Sunny specially goes out of its way to not show the face of the Stranger, an interesting detail, when you note how Sunny might recognize them given his memory of the mystery Gods face when she is sacrified in the story. Three, in this story, the heroes pull out their weapons on their people. Interesting as it specifically mentions how the Stranger carried a shield, not a weapon, though this can also be said for the priestess. Four, we know she hailed from somewhere else. A stone race, something similar to what the daemon of dread created, maybe inspired by their creator, the Forgotten God. Five, we learn that the Gods may not be good people. As Noctis warns Sunny to never trust the Gods and Hope being sealed by them (perhaps due to the threat she posed) Six, the daemons are the Flaws of Gods, as Hope put it, because they are the offspring of the forgotten god, the one they sacrified and serve as a reminder of their sin and represent their eventual downfall.
It was already insinuated that she canât predict everything. She just can see into distant futures. And so sheâs been trying to domino all of these events and control the outcome. I think Corrupted Sunny knew about this, Cassieâs obsession with breaking fate might be what killed Nephis after all, and thus prepared something to stop her, the Key to the Estuary perhaps? Regardless, I think we should be happy that characters outside of Sunless have a tremendous impact on the story.
Iâm also so incredibly happy that thereâs so much more potential for our other characters. Was worried that the story was beginning to be solely influenced by our main MC. Glad to see some OPness from our other characters! Canât wait to see whatâs in store for character development for Nephis and Mordret next!
