That is nonsense. Cubs stay in the den with the mother and don't get taught survival skills until the are mobile. The mother is fully capable of teaching the cub. The problem and where the author should have focused on is whether there's enough and appropriate prey and territory for the cloud leopard and child to survive on the mountain.
