It was only a matter of time tbh. In the Wild West, RDR2 version especially, no MC is going to stay innocent unless the author tries hard at a slice of life type story. There's really only two scenarios for MC to lose his innocence anyway. Either self defense or personal gain. It's not like Fallout where you have mutants and ghouls to ease the MC into killing.

The prices for the clothes he just bought are pretty accurate. Pieces of clothing can cost anywhere from 1-20 dollars. If you're frugal you can get an entire outfit for 7-8 dollars back then. Tbh besides the food everything else is pretty fairly priced.
