So this is the result of the old devil in the ring? Always fun when the MC says random BS and it turns out to be true (due to plot manipulation, but still).
It seems like the writer doesn't know the difference between a Solar System and a galaxy... or at least the scale difference between them. There are roughly 100 billion-ish solar systems in a galaxy, knowing about a given solar system and a galaxy in general are very different things.
Idk what part of America you could possibly be from... I've lived in Ohio, Georgia, Virginia, and I've been to most of the states and been in the U.S. military... No one in the general population of America thinks this way. Maybe a child who has never worked before, a neet who lived off their parents who doesn't know how things work, or some rich guy who has no idea how the rest of society works. But most working class and higher income people know what it is like working for a low wage and give out plenty for a tip. People might reject getting too much for a tip in America, but that is generally because they don't feel right taking more than what is fair for a particular service... In rare circumstances where a person is acting arrogant and rude a person might tell them to go away and reject a tip like that. But not because they are 'innately arrogant', and in the first place "Americans" include people from almost every other existing country in the first place, it is a country made up of immigrants who flowed in over time.. Generally when insulting Americans in general people are also insulting a large number of people who came from their own country at the same time since it has had more immigration than most any other country.. Don't use your lack of life experience to perpetuate bias.
Actually, plenty of people in management and positions of power in reality truly think in this sort of way as well.. there are a lot of stupid people in reality as well.
Not necessarily obvious in this context, like how Sun has iron skin (however common defensive abilities like that are) or how people can upgrade their bodies, firearms are often useless against people as well in settings like this... with the exceptions of, basically, kids.
It seems to roughly be saying that China thinks India is full of racist people and that the upper class oppress the lower class there.
No, but a lack of coherent thought and then trying to incorporate real science concepts in a way that doesn't make sense hoping no one understands.. isn't great. Most sci-fi may not be accurate to life, and doesn't need to be, but it at least isn't gibberish and you can be like 'Oh yeah, I could see a world where things are like this'.
In a lot of lore Orc just means animal/human hybrid. They just happen to be pig/human in most fantasy settings that are produced nowadays.
Yes, but in the story being portrayed everyone had/used strong nukes, if every war was nuclear war then it becomes the opposite of profitable. Though if you are in a galactic civilization you can still ignore a planet or two being destroyed, but your still losing life planets.
This author tried wayyy too hard to sound mysterious and tried to explain fantasy using 'amazing science' when they obviously have no understanding of actual physics/science principals from the descriptions they give, lol. Reason your brain hurts is because they just said a bunch of nonsense because author did not know how to explain in a sensible manner and was too lazy to make up a fantasy reason.
Worst case scenario: I think could also apply to concept of Aliens in reality. Create different intelligent species, watch how their unique society evolves and develops technology, once they reach a certain level their unique developments can contribute to insights and development on your own technologies in ways your own species may never have been able to think of. Then, kill the species off before they ever have a chance to get strong enough to do anything.
yeah... I actually did exactly that in High school... 10 years later, still working on AI and getting my physics doctorate to try and see if it was right or wrong (though it has changed a lot since then), lol
This! He said it! This is the first time I noticed someone mentioned 'courting death' in this novel, though not in the normal context.. I was beginning to question the origins of this novel.
They said lifespan is typically 250 years... so that is like every other ruler, so, roughly they are saying he is slightly above average in respect to his inheritance. That isn't anything particularly shocking! lol
um... the galaxy is a big place, the sun is a slightly below average sized star, and there are plenty of objects in the universe with higher energy concentration/content than a regular star... I think it should mean in the Solar System?
I mean, pretty much only terrorist organizations with no real power would stop at one building... If America (or any other developed nation) decided to go all out, somehow got bomb-dropping jets flying over a city, and they were not intercepted beforehand, most of the city would be leveled... Though, I don't think China, America, or any other large country would try and just bomb random cities even if they were at war, or let others come in and bomb their own without a fight.
