Just kind of curious as I find this as a huge incongruent plot hole. If the MC is a seasoned pit fighter why would he just lock up like this from fear. Cause someone who is trained to face getting beat to death in hand to hand combat would not just freeze like this. Because if they did, in a pit fight, they would already be dead.

Can't go wrong with this author. I can honestly say he is one of the very few I've actually donated too and helped support out of all the novels I've read. Simply because his work is that good an he deserves it.
