Not a bad story, the start is well done and flows at a nice pace. Then it starts going rough afterwards when MC never does what he says he’s going to do. To go find his family. MC goes full -IQ mode after a certain someone exchanges a favor. He should’ve split ways after that, like he was supposed to do. But, author decided to scrap that and make this a kingdom building novel. Which is okay, but also a let down. It took a 180 turn from what it started as. MC hasn’t proceeded to go find his family afterwards, despite him saying it every now and then. (It’s been over almost 300+ chapters) I understand he’s just one person but still his action’s contradicts his emotions. With how he expresses his love towards his family he should’ve been on that trail like fire, then the kingdom building should’ve taken precedence afterwards. MC has been chilling in his “dynasty” fantasy for a good minute now. I really believe this novel would’ve gathered more ongoing readers if the story wasn’t driven by kingdom building so suddenly. Lastly, there’s many incorrect use of “was” in present tense. I believe almost every chapter has this problem. It’s “is” because the subject hasn’t changed and it’s still the same in present tense and/or currently ongoing. Let me give you (my)an example: The fight ensued with bullets everywhere. There “was” chaos and bodies falling like a plague. That’s an incorrect use of was because it’s still happening. “Is” should be used instead of “was” because the fight isn’t over yet. It just started and is still describing the events “currently” happening. I will continue reading to see if this story develops into something greater.
