You've never seen a Sun bear, then
If you're so confident in it, why do you have to whataboutism it
You...are aware that Washington DC is in the heart of a 'Southern' state as described by the Missouri Compromise? That was the whole reason that Abraham Lincoln specifically stated in his Emancipation Proclamation that only slaves in REBELLING states were to be freed, as 4-5 southern states that were slaveholding did not join the confederacy, and Lincoln didn't want a revolution in the capital during the Civil war. The statement by the author was correct without addition or exclusion. Only southern states as defined by the 36th parallel were allowed to be slaveholding states. Not all southern, slaveholding states joined the Confederacy.
Google "monty python witch duck scene." king Arthur meets sir Bedivere right as a group of peasants are going to burn a woman for being a witch. bedivere uses logic and questions that seem reasonable enough step by step, but is false on its premise as a whole. if I remember correctly (KA for king Arthur and B for Bedivere, paraphrased heavily):KA: How do we know this woman is a Witch?B: well, we all know that witches float.KA: right.B:Thus, if a woman floats, she must be a Witch.KA: makes sense.B: Now, what else do we know floats?KA: A....duck?B:Just so! Now, we have no water nearby, but we do have ducks a plenty. and if a witch floats and a duck floats, than therefore, a witch must weigh the same as a duck!"They weigh the woman and it turns out the duck is actually as heavy as she is, revealing her as a witch. the final line of this exchange isKA: Who are you, so wise in the ways of science?Which is the reference here.-flies away because he too is the weight of a duck-
This is showing and not telling. Foreshadowing counts. What you may be thinking of is advice only applies to writing about present events, ie not 'Alexander was sad' but 'Alexander's lip trembled as his teeth clenched. His body tensed up, as if afraid losing its grip of his muscles would similarly make Alexander lose his grip on his mind.' Foreshadowing is an excellent narrative advice, and leaving a fishhook here is textbook good writing- so long as we see the payoff.
castlevania. It's Dracula's most famous line.
Remember that maturity comes from knowledge and experience. Without access to standardized education or the internet, it is extremely difficult to attain either, even for a noble. We've no end of immature Nobles in the real world causing massive problems due to petulance or immaturity.
He's 2 years older than his brother. when he was an only child, they tried to cure it, because he was heir to the household. the moment his brother was born, however, they stopped trying to fix Cael, since now Vittorio could just be made heir. no need to fix what's broke when you can just replace it.
because all namekians are male-ish
THIS time? Hans, he has always been the baddie.
You'd think so- until you realize this novel came out around the time of the second force unleashed game and he just named the move 'Starkiller' XD
Weapons are a force multiplier. All that power concentrated on a single edge, instead of spreading the impact over his massive hand? Dude is gonna REND people.
For anyone confused as to why a big guy is gonna use a tiny knife: to the Chinese, a 'knife' is any single-edged bladed weapon, regardless of size. the Dao Saber, a 4 ft long chinese cutlass/falcata, is considered a knife. The German peasants got around weapon restrictions in a similar way via the Messer (which literally translates to 'knife'), which was a single edged sword bigger than most arming swords. For common characteristics, the Chinese sword, usually a Jian, is a double edged weapon and is considered more of a defensove/counterattacking weapon in cultivation novels. The Dao saber is similar in shape and design to a cutlass or scimitar, and is considered a hyper-offense, 'ill-let-you-cut-my-flesh-to-break-your-bones' kind of weapon as it trades the ability to guard and parry as well as the Jian does by instead focusing all its weight and design to maximize cutting power, similar to the Iberian Falcata.
I think he has all 8 bodies, he's just missing 2 of the 9 or 10 wills
gdi Lu Sheng why do you hate horses so much
If I had no idea that nukes existed and then suddenly saw a bright light that enveloped the world, went to where I saw the light and saw that it had been turned to ashes and salt, and God. in the following few days watched as I and all my neighbors started wasting away and dying of horrific diseases? Yes I would ABSOLUTELY believe that was the retribution of an angry god.Gods don't have to be nice. Even the Buddha effectively kidnapped Sun Wukong and forced him into slave labor under penalty of pain/death in Journey to the West. The Abrahamic God REALLY liked pillars of fire and salt and plagues. Worship can be a form of primitive appeasement, the same way a peasant in the middle ages would bow before a king to not get their fool head cut off. it's a form of self-protection.
rare because it covers the entire body from skin to viscera without requiring supplemental medicine. He's rich af now so he can broaden his search
Lu Sheng's dad is old af for imperial China. man's probably firing blanks.
we know a silver tael is worth 10 bucks from earlier, right? 20,000 dollars a month sounds like a good profit for a luxury good (which paper would have been considered in that era) store, assuming USD & a high population density. this just sounds like "there are no poor cultivators" to me that we see in so many cultivation novels.
