Yea, novels i typically hate anything related to earth nations as then the MC will be ultra nationalistic and deeply despises everyone of different nations and the novel generally portrays other nations as evil while their own as the best there is with no faults whatsover .

why not acquire such skills , it’s not hard to find in developed countries , you can easily sign up for a fun survival activity or bushcrafting or learn ancient farming(no tools) and even medival co mbat (with weapons and all) and many other activities , some include things like hunting game then teaching you how to gut and skin and so on. Not sure about other countries but at least i’v e seen or done many of these in the uk personally
