The guy was an idiot, even if he meant well, and his brother was too seeing as they were the strongest village and he still let Hashi sell the tailed beasts instead of keeping all of them, that would have been better than giving the other villages a bigger gun when they didn't care about peace. Peace doesn't happen unless everyone wants it not just one group

cause it's a lot harder to begin that training and hasn't had the time since he's been fighting in the war and needed to focus on the things that could realistically be useful to him in battle, you can't expect him to start on that as soon as he returned to the village since he immediately started learning under Chiyo so he'd focus on learning puppetry, fuin, and poisons
