I figured that due to aura they could sense things like emotions and intent in pokemon and people so when they meet a bad person then it’s a sense of vile and bad feelings and emotions via aura sensing and that causes distrust

True but in the anime and movies it shows riolu warming up to people who are “good” faster so if the mc was “bad” then it would most likely dislike him at first and take longer to get used to the mc Also the good and bad is by Pokémon standards so like team rocket bad
