i like the idea of side branches and main branches while the main branch rises to a 1st class power the side branches will stay at 2nd class power MTA wont allow 1st class powers in the middle zones so i think what's gonna happen is side branches will be locked at a 2nd class power while the main fleet will eventually rise to 1st class power and whenever a side branch pilot wants to advance even further they are gonna have to join the main fleet

not necessarily remember ves has 1 thing over any other patriarchs he has a skill that is not replaceable hes the only one that can make living mechs and he has control over them. he can turn off glows he hasn't used that skill in ages but its available makes him almost impossible to betray. i think this is a good story progression
