Nope. What I meant is after... Raiders... Other towns, villages etc. The traps would be useless against humans unless they are truly dumb...
Its hard to say considering that they have to expand the walls from a town to a city then into an imperial city and also if those traps aren't removed and are just reused, it might cause civilian danger. They also can't just warn citizens as spies come from everywhere then the trap becomes useless

It's not about attack speed but rather equipment. Furthermore, were talking about Elite Units; wouldn't it be too ironic if they didn't have to skill to maneuver themselves on horses.
He probably is but not important as only the Yearly recruitment summons a historical figure.

Usually in detailing large amounts of men, people would just give an estimate usually up to the thousands. It makes it easier to keep track of the general scale of troops. Also, this makes organization simple and easy.
I think the author meant that from the City's standpoint. The enemy encampment was covering the southeast area up to the Northwest area. Technically a wide encampment...
Meh. He would be building a larger city. Thus there is a real need to clear those traps so they could expand.
