Evan felt the sound waves bouncing off from his body and he knew the bat found his location once again. He wanted to stand up and run away from there, but the bat arrived there instantly and spit out a black liquid from its mouth covering Evan's entire body with it.

A normal what?
If it was a normal bat, he could have avoided being caught by it by changing his posting again and again, but since it was not a normal bat it was obvious that its echolocation skill is far better than normal bats.

And no guys wearing a John-style suit doesn't make you look stylish by default. It's the man who makes the suit badass not the other way around 😎. A 12-year-old Athos in a suite it's looks like a schoolboy who goes to school in a tie because he thinks it's classy. Cute for us adult weird for other 😂
He hiked down into the next valley and the one after that, stopping when he heard running water. He adjusted his invisible tie and summoned Leviathan. He pushed through a few pine trees before and found himself on the banks of a river. It was forty feet wide but only a few inches deep, the stone river bed easily seen due to the clear water. The rapids plunged downwards into a deep, dark swimming hole.

With the sound of a kitten being stepped on, the manticore managed to jump backwards, narrowly escaping the flying truck, which with a loud 'BOOM!' created a small crater when it landed. Seeing the destruction it caused, he hoped that the truck's owner would be fine with the vehicle having a few scratches.
