I know you limited Garen'n canon knowledge, but not by how much. His knowledge just got revealed, albait this late and not how much. If he knows key events, then better prepare it before late reveal like this one. Good story so far, it's mattered when it's due. My complaint is the limited scope of the events, it's just stayed local. And if it stayed that way still, then it's predicable. The West retaliated, Garen as always countered and thwarted their attacks, finally he settled and stop moving again, just waiting for next event coming his way.

What's the calendar? For estimating characters' age. Early chapter points toward 11 years of Robert's rule. So Robb's is around 12? Other canon characters in the 2nd generation would be too young and don't know if there any available age high born that shows up from canon for your MC. Ah Oberyn's sire should have someone older. Your MC is younger than Renly but not much right? Same as Edmure. Is there any Tully woman, branch family, available canonically?

Why does he sounds like a teenager in my head? I don't see rage (when he should) but more like a complaint not getting his favorite toys instead. That's how he sounds like for me so far. Adult mind would think far ahead already when he lose control of his own bodily control of his first human victim; i.e stay far away first, try control the urge by hunting animals.
