That teeth thing really got me. I expected him to say how he would do something twisted and brutal with an even more twisted smile but he just said it like a joke. Reminds me of Handsome Jack from Borderlands.

I like how this comment wouldn't have appeared on any other book. People would assume they got there just in time and Doevm would cauterize the wounds with his dagger. But that isn't this kind of book, where people are immune to consequences because plot.
