GDBBM was one of the first stories i ever paid premium for, back when Misty was still doing translations independently in their own website. That was also my first encounter with North Night. Because of some things, I ended up finishing GFNSYL first and then I went back to GDBBM. I just love all of North Night’s works. Her heroines are also a little more interesting than the usual transmigration xianxia novels. I particularly like how NN makes the leads obviously flawed and then matching them with an equally flawed pair. I also liked how there’s a bit more side romance in GDBBM than GFNYL, and it’s the kind of side romance that warms the heart. I’m hoping to see more side romances in North Night’s work. It was also funny how the two stories were linked (clue: it was through a character). I had noticed the oddity but didn’t think much of it at the start. Clearly, the author’s thoughts run deep. I finally have to say goodbye to Xiao Xie, but I’m hoping to see her and Xiao Xiao agaIn in future works.
I feel like Dong Xinxin had a similar past to Lin Wenwen, both were spoiled silly by their loving families, and then they were both reborn by fire after all their experiences post-apocalypse. It makes so much sense for them to be so close now
