Okay I give up. Just no. Just kill the guy and be done with it.

Seriously, why is this guy even the innkeeper? He has a whole story all by himself. The inn is gonna be a side gig. Its importance has kinda evaporated.

I expected more "Innkeepering" less "earth-cultivator-nonsense" truth be told.

    "Socializing is boring."

"Is that why you're here?" Lex asked. He was slightly curious about Larry now, and it wasn't a bad idea to try and develop a few connections of his own. A potential future army captain wasn't a bad person to know.

Why in all that is holy is your son living separately with no knowledge of you or cultivation anyway. omg.

Aaaand, more stupidity added to the mix. Good thing the office lady did not swat him like a fly, cause his mighty family, that is really sh*tty at protecting their own, might have gotten a bit angry.

"I just got a call from mom. Someone in Bluebird ran a background check on big brother, and it seems they're getting ready to register him as a cultivator."

Yeah, sounds like a lamb ready for slaughter.

"I am," Lex answered, his eyes shining brightly. A lot of the things Hamid told him opened his mind and imagination. This was a truly exciting world. He couldn't wait to explore further.

This is all so irrelevant though. His stage is Universe. (Or should be) Spending too much time on Earth problems just seems limiting.

"Oh," Lex exclaimed, suddenly feeling stupid. "I thought we teleported somehow. I was amazed by the cultivation world, though I suppose mixing formations and technology is an amazing accomplishment in itself."

"Hello lamb, I am your best friend! :)"

"I must apologize for Jessica's harshness in treating you," the man said, his voice as if talking to a young child. "Although her cultivation is high, she's never really encountered an actual unregistered cultivator or been in any dangerous situation. You know how kids are these days, thinking everything is a conspiracy."

    ..."YOU LIE!!"

If they asked to see his cultivation technique, he would be in trouble. Although he knew the difference between Regal Embrace and others, he did not know an actual cultivation technique he could give someone. If they asked, he would have to insist on not telling. Saying he got his cultivation technique from a bottle on the beach was a flimsy excuse he made up in the moment and was difficult to believe, though he supposed it was not impossible. If they asked to see it, he would say he destroyed it so as to keep it a secret.

    Uh, game over?

"You should be careful in what you say," Mary warned him, speaking for the first time since this ordeal started. "If you lie in front of a cultivator with a higher cultivation, they can usually tell that you're lying. That's why I didn't even risk speaking to you earlier. Without the Host Attire to control your expressions, Jessica would have immediately noticed you getting distracted while you were talking to me in your head. It would raise her suspicions."

I would not go that far. As long as the requirements are not ridiculous and it got advantages why would he not join?

Lex frowned as he mulled over what Jessica told him. It seemed like he really had underestimated the dangers that came along with cultivation. He thought, similar to the many novels he'd read, once he started cultivating he'd have a huge advantage over everyone and people would admire him wherever he went. Now it seemed like he needed to be more careful. As for joining an organization, it all depended on what the requirements were.

I do not know about randomly dropping keys but staying in the inn as much as possible is a good idea alright.

Cultivators would come. The only problem I see is time. Also, trying to drop keys for the cultivators sounds really dangerous. If they found it was him, which I find likely (or more like guaranteed with his luck), it should not go well for him.

As a last resort, sure. If he is not too busy p**sing himself anyway. Or blocked by some qu bulls**t. But he would have to say bye to his life on Earth for a while. I am not sure if that would bother him though.

Well overall I would say that people expected some1 that got a system to actually benefit from it and rise. So far though the future is anything but rosy. The system development is also kinda random. And the inn is not particularly classy, noble or anything awe inspiring. It was put together on a knee with no real care or plan. Universe inn? Not even close. At least try, man. I guess it got qi? And cutlery. Whoohoo. And now the guy gets pushed around. And he got no real plan. What is to like exactly?

I do not see it. He was discovered too fast and cultivators do not seem like people that would want to work a job. Own a company? Sure. Work a job? I doubt that. The fights and long lived people would be a pain to hide too. Another problem is his whole situation. He is being blindsided left and right with life threatening information and situations and he just keeps receiving it. He is not even really trying to protect himself. I wonder what s**t that key he randomly dropped will bring him. And how well the "befriending" of Bastet will go. The system of course does not help. It seems to have been designed to only work for lucky people cause otherwise you are dead. Thats just how precarious his situation is. I mean tommorow a gate may open right next to the most notorious cultivator murderer on Earth and well, buh-bye. "Hello new user, welcome to the system-that-is-likely-to-kill-you-before-you-even-understand-what-is-going-on TM."

    Also, stupid cultivators.

"You should be very careful. If you really did cultivate yourself and have no background to rely on, then you fall under the most vulnerable category of cultivators. Although cultivators have to follow special laws and their activities are regulated, they are also afforded special privileges. It's not so bad normally, but if a cultivator with a high level of cultivation ever perceives you as a threat to his or her interest, they won't hesitate to kill you, and at most they'll just get a fine. If you want to survive, I strongly suggest you join an organization as soon as possible."
