The knew each other, especially since Brynden only disappeared in 252 when Aemon was 54 and already a Maester at the wall (Brynden being Lord Commander at the time as well as being with Aemon on the way to the wall to join the Nights Watch).

I understand the way your point about wanting a small harem. However, you need to understand that dropping in hints like this that will ultimately get no follow ups, especially about fan favourite characters will lead to people getting annoyed about things when they don't turn out the way they want. Especially as the interaction didn't need the have the romantic undertone as it would have worked the same if you had allowed him to take the big brother roll instead.
And before you say anything, Entoma, Yuri, Lupusregina and Narberal won't end up with Citrinitas. They just have a crush on him. Thinking about how I want the story to go, I don't want this to be some huge harem. At most, there will be 3 love interests for Citrinitas. At least how I see things going forward.
