The way I believe the author is explaining this is: 1 Root = 100% cultivation of Qi in 1 element 2 Roots = 50% in 2 elements, slower then if you only had 1 Root but faster then if only practiced with only 1 of 2 Roots. So you would only get 50% of 1 element, which would be less then the total 100% of 2 elements. 3 Roots = 33.3% of 3 Elements. Again cultivating 2 roots of 3 would be 66.6%, instead of just one at 33.3%.

Don’t know if you play on different courts to me but generally half a ‘singles’ tennis court (only the playing field not return) is between ~95 & 110 m2. It was only a comment to be used as a reference not to be exact so if the comparison doesn’t work for you, just ignore it.

It was made as a joke but sure any farmer will use potatoes to propagate more but Potato plants do produce flowers/fruit and as such produce seeds. Might want to google it. Also ‘Seed Potatoes’ are generally not treated with growth inhibitors which is really the only difference. So there is a difference? I’ve grown both and seen it.
