I mean even if she is against it, which in the first timeline she wasn’t (since initially she didn’t love anyone before meeting Ethan), then there are steps to take. Like a married couple might fall out of love, but that doesn’t mean it is ok for them to commit adultery. They just go their separate ways and pursue their own life. Since Emily at the end did get the anullment of the engagement we know that was a possible option.

The epilogue is in the side story section

Weird I read another ending with Epilogues somewhere else. Did the author remove them afterwards?

It is called Major League system. Once he enters the Majors the story is basically concluded. There is a last volume to see how he adapts and how far he goes in the Majors but honestly even ending it here would be a good ending, even if it leaves some unanswered questions.

I honestly want the MC dead at this point. He is so brain dead it wouldn’t matter if a bullet was put in his head.

This MC is brain dead for sure. Like he just talked on the phone with Jane so why would he be worried about her. If he wanted to uncover whether Mark is unhinged why not subtly call for backup before going with him.
