Almost as cruel as he could be XD That being said it makes a lot of sense: it takes Adrianos (big feudal land owner) away from Epirus, making the reformation of the laws and economy in Epirus way easier for Antonius (ottoman nobility can just be stripped of its lands), and it "rewards" Adrianos with land that he will have to defend. How Constantinoples will react to this is a big uncertainty though and the presence of roman senators monitoring the war is another wild card... we don't even know (if I remember correctly) if they have already chosen a new Basileus or who he is!
