A Dementia patient started believing he is a school going kid despite being 60+ years of age. His aching knees and hunched body was not able to make him see reality. And people in real life have constructed some reality based on what they have seen and anything out of that is sort of an illusion or false to them until given straight facts.

Yes that I'm thoroughly aware about, but in many Asian communities because of the existing beliefs when they transitioned to Christianity, the belief of non-vegetarians remained and also due to some historical events. It's also sort of a myth actually, due to how stories are passed on.
