Went back to reading this for some reason. Author has reached a new level of man-hate in the latest chapter i read. Imagine if this novel/author was this absurdly, blatantly sexist against women as they are against men. Honestly think this author needs mental help. Forget the retarded powers all females have in this novel, after being apart for a long time MC didn't even say "Hi" to his father before he went to his mother's dead lesbian lover's grave so they can cry over her tragic death 20+ years ago. This HAS to be shitposting.

Author mixing up cause and effect

Interesting novel that is simultaneously horribly bad and quite interesting. The core idea is interesting and the pace of development quite rapid. The novel is engaging and despite all its weaknesses i've read more than 1k chapters at this point and will continue to read. That being said, here is an short list of SOME major weaknesses: 1. Horrifically bad writing/editing that reaches the level of pig English at times. Forget about grammar, sentence structure, correct word usage... half the time you will have only the vaguest idea what the author wants to say and need to rewrite whole passages in your head to make it legible. 2. Author and MC are extreme white knights. Every woman in the novel is hyper powerful, hyper beautiful and every time they speak their voice is like angelic chorus caressing the MC's soul. Thats almost a quote btw. Yeah. Males barely exist in this novel and if there are any they are either forgettable side characters or loathsome villain bastards. Its not obvious at the start but this gets increasingly clearer with the novel's progression. 3. Power structure is an endless climb with new hyper powerful mega elite never before heard of levels being created every 50 chapters. MC is also getting earth shattering unique opportunities to advance every 50 chapters but despite that all his girlfriends are always as powerful or more powerful than him btw. As i said, novel is objectively horrible on many levels but like nicotine, just can't seem to kick it so far.

Uneven, but generally interesting. Took me a couple of attempts to get past the first chapter as it more graphic than i usually enjoy. Sex does play a large role after as MC is a 15 year old horn dog after all but it not too horrible. I'm at chapter 253 at the moment and the one thing that has been turning me off is the rabid Chinese nationalism. Its standard for these novels and i don't really mind it as long as it stays in the background. Its normal for people to be proud of their country and heritage, nothing wrong with that. But at times this novel feels like there were CCP censors standing behind the writer while he was writing it. The "China number 1!" feeling is a pity since at the start the story presents one of the few multi-ethnic and multi-cultural societies seen in such novels. Starting to look more and more like the novel is turning into a missed opportunity but will keep reading it as there is potential buried under the bullshit.

Love your story and I hope you keep writing it! Gambare! Also, everyone needs time off from time to time. Better to take a week or two off every 2-3 months rather than having to disappear for close to a year. Better for you, better for the story, better for the readers. Lastly, just a piece of advise - something I see a lot of authors do is time their chapter releases to happen when webnovel refreshes for a new day and readers have stones etc to give Lots of authors/stories get a popularity leg up by doing so.

This whole arc has been very unpleasant to me as well. MC basically has the mentality of a lizard (sorry..."dragon") and very little humanity to speak of. The novel was never "soft" but genocide/enslave a whole world because they now look different really doesn't mesh well with modern western morality (which I mostly belong to)

Cuttlefish is Cuttlefish. Wonderful writing, interesting world, believable characters. I am gratified to have found this writer to be able to catch up on several finished novels they have. This is an interesting mix of contemporary, urban, alternative reality, romance, martial arts, fantasy... a real hodgepodge of genres that probably won't work for everyone. Focus shifts mainly between fighting and romance and both are well written. Honestly, the hardest part in this novel for me was to take a world where kungfu is real seriously. I was more ready to accept planet-sized Cthulhu gods and post-apocalyptic superpowers than this. Thankfully I reached the point where the MC starts getting magic powers which made the fighting scenes more believable for me (hehe) and I'm able to enjoy the story without reservations. Having mentioned the MC - he is less interesting than Klein or Shangjiao (can't be bothered to check the names, hope didn't butcher them) but has a naivete and earnestness to him that fits well with a young martial arts student story. Summary - typical Cuttlefish story, maybe not for everyone, but very well written and well worth the time if you can get into it. An easy recommendation for anyone who likes martial arts, romance or novels different from the usual cultivation claptrap.

Webnovel is winning and its winning due to originals like this. Currently I am only reading one translated novel but have 5 originals that I follow and this is one of the best. Writing is a bit uneven as the author likes to experiment from time to time but aside from a somewhat slow second volume the rest of this is very well done. Its well written, similar enough to other cultivation novels to be recognizable but different enough to be interesting, story is engaging, characters are mostly interesting, cultivation system is fun. Author is not great at describing combat but thats the only noticeable negative after 600+ chapters. Major plus is that author is trying to create a mature and realistic universe, novel is not dumbed down for kiddies like many others on the site. A very easy and strong recommendation for anyone into cultivation type novels.

All those YA readers will at some point grow up and start searching for something a bit more adult. You don't have to be explicit but keeping the universe you create dark and somewhat "realistic" will serve you well for the longevity of the story even if it makes it a bit less popular immediately. More importantly - if you stop writing the story you want to write and "sell out" for the clicks you will one day be bored with your own story and turn into just another 9-5 drone churning out the awful mediocrity that permeates this site. Try to find some happy medium as much as possible but ultimately stay true to yourself. Just a piece of advise from someone who "sold out" a long time ago and for next to nothing...

Good novel but never got the attention it deserves. Pity. Hope they can finish the translation.

This story keep getting better and better

Starts interesting enough with the first 100 or so chapters being the story of a young boy that goes to a military academy and is on his way to becoming a soldier. Then makes an abrupt turn and spends the next 100 or so chapters focusing on passionate young love that prevails against all challenges. They know each-other only two weeks before their love reaches an unshakeable level, more passionate, true and free and hones than any love that's ever loved. Oh, and the MC is a martial genius, prodigy and the one to always save the day with everyone else just a pale shadow of his magnificence. Well, its not quite as bad as that but you get the idea. Most annoying is how the story turned from being a soft military fantasy to being a romantic fantasy. Its not badly written, but its also not what I started reading.
