"Certain forces" is just a coded way of pushing the classic antisemitic conspiracy theory about who controls Hollywood. Honestly, I'm not even surprised—Chinese web novels are notorious for leaning into these types of prejudiced tropes and nationalist grievances to manufacture a hidden villain for the plot. It is just lazy writing.
