Slating is a word. However it's used incorrectly here. The author probably meant scathing review or something similar. An ignorant minority of people here on this website seem to have confused the word. Dictionaries while not authorities over language, are good tools for telling when a usage of a word is a particularly unpopular (read erroneous) one. Sources: Cambridge Dictionary redirects "slating review" to scathing review Merriam-Webster doesn't even have this usage in the dictionary. Citing other correct uses for the word slating. It's okay to make mistakes. Just improve your English and move on.
Meh. Mistakes in the first sentence of the synopsis. I wanted bang bang bang not reng reng reng.
I believe I was mistaken. I'm still learning the characters and haven't memorized it well enough evidently. Thank you for setting me straight.
Here's some notes. Narrator voice shouldn't be used to comment on things that are observations or opinions. Things like how perfect/flawed a characters attire is are better left for a character to observe. The word choice is a little verbose here. Try to stay within two descriptive adjectives in your character descriptions. Optimally the reader should be able to imagine a character. Let details like color and shape be your first visual. This will help you choose your words in a more effective way. Good luck, hope this helps.
