It would be fantastic if the author released whole chapters, but of course, it’s important to milk everything. I really enjoy the story, but the constant chapters where nothing happens, or it just sets up another chapter, or it’s basically an extended definition chapter is getting excessive. And the only reason all these chapters are cliffhangers is because they are broken up that way. About every four to six “chapters” on here make a normal chapter in a book. It has gotten to the point where I personally no longer support this novel or Grand Ancestral Bloodlines, and I very much enjoy both books, but can just no longer accept being fleeced.
…It’s is pretty obvious they are talking about real world money.
Yeah, something like this only makes sense in cultivation stories, where the guild/clan can recruit from hundreds of billions AND their cultivation progress is supposed to naturally make you more attractive. But in the end, this is your standard self-insert power fantasy, wish fulfillment novel. You have to turn your brain all the way off and just nod and smile.
I think your definition of misogyny leaves a lot to be desired, as it is a little too broad. Misogyny, as the Oxford dictionary defines, is a feeling of hate or dislike towards women, or a feeling that women are not as good as men. The vice captain said let the men handle this, but that was because he wanted to protect the weakest (Xiaoru) and the most talented (Captain), and not because he thought they were inadequate or because he hated/disliked them or was looking down on them, but because he saw the mission as suicidal and didn’t think they should have to die. There were five in total, three men and two women. By using simple deductions, if the vice captain doesn’t want the two women to fight, that only leaves the men. Hence, “leave it to the men.” He could have also said leave it to us or something similar. I think we are a little too quick to throw around misogyny, racism, and sexism labels. If a group of women said to a man, leave it to the women, that wouldn’t automatically insinuate misandry. Context matters. Now, if the vice captain was actively hostile and said something like “you two would just get in the way, leave it to the men” you would right be to call that misogyny.
That wasn’t misogyny.
That first sentence perfectly summarizes the MC, the author, and how said author wants the readers to be.
I’ve got to say, all the ”boy” and “child” descriptions is getting irritating. First, anyone that is 6 foot 6 with a chiseled physique is not going to be referred to as a boy or child. Second, anyone 18 plus years old, especially in a medieval setting would be thought of as a man by most people. So while it makes since for people of the elder generation or antagonists wishing to demean Leo to refer to him as a boy or child, almost no one else would. And lastly, I think the constant use of boy as a term of description for Leo really clashes with the picture that is trying to be painted. That of a burgeoning battlegod like character. I would think anyones first reaction looking at a huge 6 foot 6 incredibly fit and muscled individual would be intimidation/jealousy/inadequacy or a combination of all three, not “look at this little boy” or “who does this child think he is” type of responses. Sorry for the long response and I understand there are 700 plus chapters as of writing this so my criticism won’t effect anything, but it got to the point I felt obligated to make my thoughts heard anyways. Although, I’d also like to say, I do love this story. Definitely one of my favorite web series or stories in general. So keep up the good work. I think this is now a step above Grand Ancestral Bloodlines now, though I do like that very much as well.
…we just going to brush over that he now remembers actually sucking on his mothers breats now huh. I mean, talk about traumatizing.
Thank you for your reply. You can email me and we can echange contact infomation if you’d like. I wish there was a message function on here, but I don’t think they care about adding useful features all that much. Too busy trying to milk us for all our money lol. I’m not on Snapchat, or at least I never use it. My email is jcwmonroe@gmail.com I look forward to having an interesting discussion with you.
