To our knowledge there usually are 4 basic elements Fire, Water, Wind and Earth and three unique elements Thunder, Light and Darkness. Of course we can't neglect the sub elements that falls within these major elements like wood. Four major laws can be Life, Death, Creation and Destruction. One of the many categories is the study of souls.

nah we all know necromancy isn't just about darkness, there is also for souls too and death doesn't belong to any elements. death is death and is actually one if the major laws
