Samsara Lord is the future version of Han Li who lost the battle for the Time Dao Ancestor seat who traveled millions of years before our Han Li is born to become the Samsara Lord because the Time Dao Ancestor already took the seat of the Time Law seat by then so he chose the Law of Samsara instead. Future Han Li did say that their experience in the Mortal and Spirit World is very similar except that future Han Li only had Nangong Wan as his Dao Companion.

Remind me of when I read Korean novels, Korean became the strongest nation after gate opens and the rest of the world is written into dickheads who deserves no sympathy and we're destroyed by monster invasion bc MC is Korean... then read Chinese novels and same shit happens. Everyone else is either trash or dickheads but the Chinese. Patriotism really spoiled great story most of the times cuz they keep using real world setting but it's unrelatable/cringeworthy due to author fantasy of their motherland being the best in those stories. At the very least, Japanese Isekai take place in other world so MC can do Japan proud in those other worlds without making me wanna puke bc of how OP MC motherland is... well, nvm... Japanese novel is not much different when it come to patriotism in media.
