The end of sword god showed they were both in the same world - escaping sword god's world allowed him to reach gravis's. Shang was at a lower level, which is one possible explanation why no talk about brutality etc. Maybe this is Alex's world after he perfects it - Since he became death, he might even be this all-black being (or similar)

my favourite book on this site, and, although I was always wanting more, since it has been completed, there are no issues with waiting for a new chapter for anyone who wants to dive in now!

this is getting worse and worse, starting about the you-know-whos, and not redeeming itself later

is there any problem with the maw leading to leaks? if the maw can capture the shields I don't see why they wouldn't be able to get the protectors. then if the majority of the protectors and heroes are in the hidden base, then the chances that at least one of the people captured by the maw will be from there. and then if/when they get released, they will no longer be in the hidden base. they need to be returned to the base or killed?
