Under the assumption that it takes his body recognizing an active threat, does that mean his future enhancements will be strictly physical? Say Scott were to blast him with his beams. Would he just become more durable afterwards? Regenerate faster or maybe gain some energy absorbtion/manipulation ability? What if he tried resisting Nightcrawlers teleportaion? There are so many ways this ability could develop.
