Some possible reasons: 1. the cup got drawn early before Halloween so crouch Jr. didn't get a chance to put harry in. 2. harry was already entered under hogwarts as his school because of MC. so a repeated entry under a 'different school' didn't work. 3. one of the death eaters MC sniped during the quidditch cup was crouch jr.

maybe it got moved up because MC found out how to cheat the cup.

I personally don't like the idea of a system for this story unless its spun in a lore accurate way. For example her unlocking seer powers with the void phoenix letting her peer into other worlds or something. If I am remembering correctly she saw what happened to harry in a seer like manner earlier in the story. In the end its on you what you want from your story though :)
