I really wanted to like this story, but MC was genuinely starting to make me angry. like I surprisingly was able to make it through the system which would set rules randomly because at least it made the novel more interesting, I wasn't even that annoyed by the novel fl's agent because she had valid reasons for not liking the mc. the world background is a little confusing but also doable. It also had the typical Chinese rivals, but luckily, the focus is more on the mc, so it didn't tick me off as much. Like I was expecting the typical Chinese dog blood plots and stuff and faveslapping. Wouldn't say it lives up to it, but it doesn't bother me. but the mc??? he makes me mad, TT. He is so dense and weirdly so self-centered??? Like of the fl was head over heels for him, and I wouldn't know what to do. The only grace I can give him is that he's not the original mc, so it makes sense if he feels very little attachment, but he's genuinely so delusional to his current situation is makes me angry. He keeps genuinely causing problems because he's so un-observent and self-centered. While he is helping the fl with his songs, he literally puts no other work into unless he's pushed into it. It's infuriating. SPOILER ************* to be more specific: He keeps forgetting he's not the celebrity he was in the past life, which keeps causing issues. Especially since he seems genuinely bothered when he's asked to do assistant stuff and act like an actual proper employee. His only saving grace is that if he has to he will put in the work to help her since he genuinely doesn't want to cause problems, but outside of that, it's a no. The novel title refers to him as an assistant to yet it's very clear they want to elevate him to superstar status in the future. There is this scene where he overhears a phone call while in the same car as the fl, which basically reveals the fl still has feelings for the original mc. But he fake sleeps to avoid the whole thing because he believes that since he's not the original mc, he can't reciprocate her feelings. Mind you, she is aware he is fake sleeping, he could see him sneaking glances at her though the mirror, but he's so dense and stupid he somehow doesn't realize the reason the fl is so angry at him afterwards. he also seems to be completely blind to the fact why the fl treats him to see well, but still acts like a leach. yes, he gives her the songs,but he honestly seems really put out in doing so TT. And he does it in secret, so she has no idea he's giving it to her, which further adds to the unnecessary misunderstandings. And I wouldn't be so annoyed if the mc didn't tick me off with his attitude.

... I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but the within isn’t wrong. most wars are about money and power. Regardless of the reason a countries leaders may give, that's basically what it books down to. Also, a war being about regaining historical territory is still about money and power. It's never just about regaining 'historical territory' or whatever.

I'm hoping more able characters with more weight will be introduced. I'm a girl, but every time a story has to many female characters in positions of power, I get scared.... y'all always make it weird.

okay, I get it now. I really hope they maintain a sibling relationship. It'd be so cute
