I’m a sucker for this genre. I found it pretty interesting. In some “rules” the author should have done more research into how reality works. Some real-life possible events being unrealistic was the main issue I had with the book. Also MC was a bit too stubborn and boring sometimes.

Wow! The opening is worth 5 stars. I’ll need to continue later.

Way to present a strawman argument to criticize… I’ll just say this: In real society individuals have self interest, doubt, mistrust and a variety of perspectives. Not so in this novel. There are no significant challenges to the protagonist. No conflict means something entertaining needs to fill the void. That entertainment was not present for me.

The story isn’t too bad. I found it entertaining most of the time. It’s the growth of a former Chinese man, reincarnated as a workaholic wizard but the world is different enough tha most of his knowledge of chemistry and physics doesn’t really work at least not in the same way. However there’s lots of translation errors. It’s slow and the world isn’t very unusual. So the title is misleading. The ending could have been a bit more expanded and executed better. Certain plot points are slightly neglected by author. The story felt good to read overall.

A good place to end but it was a bit of disappointing resolution and no epilogue is unfortunate. Also I can now conclude the title really doesn’t fit. The world was quite normal and many of the limited strange things weren’t explored entirely.

Orkot and Onion are switched in many of the following paragraphs. It’s very confusing to read.

Under rated. There’s a lot to like here. With excellent pacing and subplots always feeling fresh and interesting. However, as is unfortunately common with translations on webnovel, there are frequent minor mitranslations/ errors in later chapters. There’s also some disconnect between arcs of the story and the need to suspend disbelief when author can’t quite keep up with introduced plot points in a timely manner or make the world wholeheartedly consistent with logic in a few places. Also some of the MC’s subordinates are under characterized and their power increases feel unearned in the plot. Overall quite enjoyable.

The story is alright. The MC has some sort of mental abnormality that makes him antisocial and want to hide at home leveling his stats by exercise. He becomes OP and a community gathers around him for safety. His world is slowly absorbed by the apocalypse/transition to otherworldly energy.

Also I got to chapter 34 before writing the review. Webnovel failed to track it properly because I listened to it in audio form until the app crashed and synced my progress back to 6.
