The grammar in the first chapters bothered me so much that I stopped reading. It completely interferes with immersion. The words themselves are spellchecked, however a lot of sentences have missing words or their tense is wrong.

Have been enjoying this novel a lot. Things seem to be well thought out and the translation quality is good. One thing that is bothering me is that the simulations can kind of drag on in chapter quantity. They have a lot of worldbuilding while they are essentially short stories where everything except the MC his experience will be lost in future chapters. For example characters he meets. So at some point the line between the simulation and the main world blurs a bit.. since it drags on so much, characters from the actual world are forgotten till the simulation ends and that is where you find yourself wondering where you left off as you try to gather your memories again. This is probably a non issue if you are binge reading this or if you are a few hundred chapters in, but if you follow the novel daily you might forgot some details over time since your essentially reading a compilation of short stories. Though the author does use time skips when needed, which is good.

Really enjoyable so far. I like how it pulls you into the mysteries and more. The novel is not perfect by any means and personally I do not like the direction it takes at times with some things feeling a bit too forced. Reminds me of japanese light novels at times development wise, which is something I am not a big fan of. However the instances are few and the plot is intriguing enough to keep me reading. The translator did a great job as well, making me feel immersed all the way through without any glaring errors.

Personally I do not mind it too much as long as it doesn't drag on for too long. With only 1 chapter a day, having multiple chapters about a side character, especially in a cliffhanger like situation is slightly annoying to read. It also depends on what you use pov changes for. Is it to flesh out the character then its great. Just do not overdo it and turn them into MCs. I like following the story of Jake so ultimately it should circle back to Jake and flesh Jake out more by knowing more about his companions. To take the previous 3 chapters as an example, (just my opinion) I do not think you needed 3 chapters to explain Tim his state of mind there. We got some information about how he still relies on others and a bit more insight on his luck skill and the determination of his opponent. I think it could have easily been squeezed and compressed into 2 wholesome chapters. Also to lightly touch on Tim his luck ability.. the downside seems nowhere is bad as its upside. You would think that once you enter the bad luck phase on an island filled with predators and people stronger than you, you would be dead within an hour especially when moving about and not hiding in a save spot (which he didn't manage to find). But that is just my take on it.

Please do not tell me we are entering pov hell? Where we get tons of chapters about side characters :(

It truly seems a bit illogical that they all picked the exact same day to do this trial if you account for the amount of days between this trial and the last one. Though it wouldn't be weird to meet 1 or 2 people he knew like old classmates etc. It is definitely odd that he meets 3 people who all just so happened to play an important part in the story. Whether it is all the foreshadowing with ruby or the role the brother/sister combo played in the previous ordeal. If it was only the brother/sister pair or only ruby I would have ignored it as a coincidence.

Does this mean that if he stayed in the 1st or 2nd trial till this Phantom Sanctuary arrived he would have missed the 3rd trial and would have been kicked out? If so.. wouldn't this mean that people who are still in the 2nd trial and are staying there till the Phantom Sanctuary arrives get a time spent in this place almost equal to the people who are just outside of the top 100? If so I feel like the emphasis that the government puts on time spent inside isn't that useful. You would be able to confirm the top 100 since they exit at the same time. But anyone below that could have just been spending all their time in the 1st or 2nd trial. Though it proofs they have willpower but thats about it.

I will have to say that dealing with the pack and other beasts isn't as difficult as you make it seem. Since he has plenty of time here and since his mental stats keep growing even if he dies he is only getting stronger and stronger. I also feel like he is not making the most out of his earth ability and he can use this place as a training trial. He can take the stone every morning which should become easier and easier since he is getting stronger and can learn the moves of this beast because of all the revives. And then he can go train his usage of his fighting abilities while growing his mental stats till their growth slows down to the point where it isn't worth it anymore. I think the best thing about this place is that he has opponents that push him and that he gets infinite restarts. The only limiting factor is how much time he can spend there. Especially his earth and telekinesis could use some practice as they are getting stronger with his increased stats too.

I think the best way definitely involves figuring out all the mysteries about the hypnosis and the stones. And personally I am disappointed he didn't kill more for more rewards. As we already learned from the previous trial, speed of completion isn't as important as unlocking new abilities by killing a certain amount of each beast. Though we are still not sure how long he truly can last in here. And perhaps his mental state wouldn't hold up if he grinded in this place for months. I think he could have definitely done so for a few weeks at least though and then move to the 3rd trial for a change of scenery.

Since you are actively reading comments a thing you could do is that when someone comments about the ark length you can reply there and get the best of both worlds. Since that is a bit more hidden and when people open up the replies to said comment they know what they are getting themselves into. A good way to make use of author notes is to either write about the chapter or previous chapters and real life situations like delays/health/breaks. Or you can keep it really ambigious when writing about future arcs. I wouldn't mind reading those at all! That said, this is just feedback, its your novel. Write what you want to write! Hope your recovery is going well! Keep it up!

Yeah but at what cost. He will get the short end of the stick if he is facing anything with intelligence and he could have probably done the same maybe to a slightly lesser extend by playing it safe and ambusing from underground. Sure the efficiency might drop a little but he wouldn't be too weak to even move the next morning and could slowly grind his opponents down. Anyways since this is a trial with infinite revivals it doesn't matter if he does this. But on a real battlefield he would be doomed the moment he starts using his brain. Especially with people that have 4-5 digit IQs. I wouldn't be surprised if the research done on these beasts were to mass produce cannonfodder soldiers for wars. Since this kind of berserk state is great for suicide squads in wars and it seems to amplify the strength too so its a win win. Maybe that is even the point of this trial, to clear it while maintaining your sanity. In other words, to proof yet again how important the intelligence stat can be in fights and that going full physical is a mistake.

A bit hard to say. It depends a lot on what the next trial stage is like (if there is one). Since this first and second trial both seem to have clear objectives that have no indication that lasting long is a good record for the outside world. Sure if someone comes out early they probably gave up, however.. there are bound to be some people with certain talents/gifts that allow them to skip through these first 2 easily. Like our MC if he hid underground in phase 2 and had a good water talent to do the first phase quickly he would have finished it in about 2 to 7 days probably. So who is to say lasting longer is better? So it only shows who has weak and strong willpower but not who completed and didn't complete the main objectives. Maybe the 3rd phase will be an endurance challenge if there is one. If there is none then it greatly confuses me since the geniuses would fly under the radar so all the emphasis on the rankings make no sense. Though I guess you can't go wrong on selecting people for your faction who have strong willpower since they have good growth potential. You would still be skipping all the geniuses though.

So at least we confirmed something is messing with his senses. The question is what is doing it and how can it be avoided. Still hella confusing though, lets see how he gets out of this. Either he has to find a way to break free from the illusion. I think observing how other beasts deal with this predator could be an opening. Or perhaps there are some restrictions to using the illusion so he can bring the fight to that predator.

I think the answer is in 'Not knowing when and why he closed his eyes to rest his dry eyes' . The when isn't important... the why however is. It was stated he became more nervous and vigilant and yet he rested his eyes for multiple seconds. Since he himself questions why he did it, it was definitely not his intention to do so. Meaning there has to be some kind of outside influence. That said.. I am happy he failed. He seems to have forgotten he can get rewards for killing stuff and perhaps there are other ways to earn titles too. Like reaching the center of the island might give some bonus related to exploring/survival. His lazy attitude kinda sucks at times. Luckily the author is pushing him out of his passive attitude. Really wonder what could kill him without realizing it though, considering how high his non physical stats are.

If the danger is big enough then a day is pretty long. Let us not forget probably about 99% of the people who did the first challenge definitely spent less than a day in the water if you count the time starting from their last revival to when they hit the beach. At the start he was struggling to survive even 5 minutes in there. Another thing is that most people can not hide from the birds in the sky, while in the water challenge they could choose to either face the water or the sky. But for Jake this challenge is easy if he would just hide underground. However now that he knows he gets benefits for killing he will definitely abuse his earth power and go on a rampage.

I do not ship him with anyone at the moment. Ruby we do not know enough about. Sarah I did not like before her bloodline because she was always hiding stuff including who she really is. But her bloodline is definitely making her more of an open book. I think her arrogance will always be a thing unless if her bloodline gets modified more down the road. She will probably be able to control her emotions better soon and not show it as much. But that does not mean she is any less arrogant.

A good fight but leaving me disappointed. I guess we can blame the digestor soul he consumed and the high testoron of his 'host'. But willingly going into some kind of berserk state is really unlike him. So far he has always been portrayed as a thinker who acts logically based on his circumstances and wouldn't follow his emotions like this in a fight willingly. Especially since this was triggered by an oracle path. If he let go of his emotions because a close one to him died or because he was in a hopeless situation with no hope in sight I would understand. But in such a controlled place with a 'friendly' duel it seems really not like him. I hope this doesn't become a regular battle tactic of his. To put this in perspective... the same battle could have happened without the emotional stuff.. the oracle could have given him a way out by realizing he could use his body and newly gained stats in a more efficient way and the outcome would have been the same. Without being so unlike him.

Oh he is finally embracing the essence of the trial. Using this period to push himself and become a better version of himself. If he settled for mediocrity the outcome would naturally be mediocre. Especially since it is not a deathmatch right now is the best time to face tough challenges nearing his limits.

I think that would draw the attention of other players and from the veterans though. You would probably be branded a coward and get put in your place by veterans. A bigger problem is that these duels are not just there for ranking purposes. It is to grow stronger and as a form of practice. I am afraid if you do not take it seriously and abuse the system, then you will be in real trouble when you enter the gladiator arena in 2 months and face someone not 400 ranks below you.

Never bring a club to a gunfight.
