Having read well past the labors arc I can firmly say I am still enjoying the story and looking forward to what happens next. BUT I still do not care for the whole labors arc. story wise it might make sense but honestly I just did not enjoy it as much as I enjoyed other parts of the story.
I honestly do not believe that Alduin would have succeeded even without the dragonborn. He may have destroyed all of skyrim and waged war against the rest of the world but there are many other extremely powerful forces that would rather he not destroy all of creation that would eventually step in to block his path if not outright destroy him. Now I don't have any evidence to support this idea of mine so I am happy to admit I could be wrong. I looked briefly online but the closest I could find was a reddit discussion on what if the dragonborn had died in Helgen. I just don't seen the World Eater's plans coming to fruition even if he had more time to feast on souls. Honestly, given how stories of gluttony usually go I would fully expect he would engorge himself to the point even he couldn't contain everything at which point he would explode possible resetting the world to some extent or something along those lines. Alduin was extremely powerful and terrifying enemy BUT I don't think he is as powerful as he believed himself to be, such is the way of narcissism.
For some reason, I expected this meeting to be a bit further in the future. Is this prep work for something that won't happen for X number of chapters or a we that close to fighting Alduin? I am looking forward to that fight but I am more interested in seeing how he deals with Harkon and other stuff in that universe.
Laughed so hard reading this
