Also, not sure if it's a good idea, but it'd be cool to see the reactions to Asher from all types of people he has met. The ones he went on a mission with (not just John), people at the Wargrave estate that he trained with, obviously all the strong people (emperors, dukes, etc), etc.

Great last 4 chapters author! Been stacking up a few chapters due to being busy the last few days, but I'm back!

Firstly, I have to start by saying that this is a story, world, and characters that I enjoy quite a bit. The writing is algo quite good and so is the update stability. Having said that, I have some issues with all of these, especially the story development. The novel starts with a system that essentially disappears before the chapter 100, it is simply not mentioned again, and it's the same for the the consequences of the system. The girls in the story are all having insane reactions to him until one day they don't, now to a certain extent that is explained by the fact that he starts accepting them as actual people, but it continues to make no sense because what starts as a novel where the 3 main girls are clearly incredibly important and a main part of the plot, stops. Claire is barely ever mentioned despite the fact that she was an interesting character with good development, Lyonna becomes a boring cop out for the mc to get out to the town from time to time and relax (a shame because her design is great), and Seraphine is part of the competition so she's mentioned more, but she also has barely gotten any development outside of sleeping with the mc. That's another thing, the mc sleeps with Seraphine, gets and absolutely insane skill, and just decides to ignore that whole aspect of the system that disappears. It makes even less sense when we've spent what seems like over 50 chapters preparing for an assassination attempt. The logical thing would be to sleep with the other two main girls, since clearly it'd give him skills for survival, since clearly that was the main focus of the story at the beginning. Another thing that is bothering me is how slow the plot is moving forward, not even a month of time has gone by and it has been 50 chapters. We don't need 50 chapters of seeing characters training, we don't need I don't know how many chapters of students discussing the same thing, we don't even need however many chapters we got with Kai and Seraphine. Genuinely such a weird part of the story, this huge thing had just happened with the mc (His sister Seraphine got kidnapped, btw his sister Seraphine is great, unironically one of the best characters) and suddenly we have 20 chapters of Kai and Seraphine going into a dungeon. Yes I understand it's connected to the major assassination attempt, but still, it's just so unnecessarily long and frankly Kai just isn't that interesting as a character. Also, somehow we got more relationship building between Kai and Seraphine than between the mc and Seraphine, genuinely pissed me off. The point is, I don't understand why there is so much filler for this, the story was moving at a decent pace and with a clear goal and both of those things randomly changed. To summarize, this is a novel I enjoy and recommended reading, but it has some issues. The plot has stagnated heavily and become filler that could have been written in less than 20 chapters and not over 50, the girls which this story was about have become irrelevant and so has their relationship with the mc, the system has disappeared and so have all the consequences (good and bad), and the Kai twist was interesting but making him so central to the story has hurt it (his twist is more interesting than his character). I think this story shined most when it was the mc dealing with the strange system (not to say it shouldn't have been resolved at this point, but not by it disappearing, but with the development of the relationships with the girls and him getting more powerful), new relationships, a new world, noble obligations, family, etc. This shift in the story has hurt the foundations of it, I'm not sure why authors always try to include some huge twist or moment, the world, the characters, the situation of the mc itself, are a lot of times enough, believe in the characters and world that you are building! Don't just subvert what you have written! This is only as long as it is because I've genuinely enjoyed the story despite my criticism, especially the characters which have sadly become ignored or underdeveloped (they have such good designs too which makes it all the more disappointing). Anyways, last ranking. Seraphine (sister, obviously first, actually cares for the mc and sees him as a person) > Mother (genuinely cares for the mc) > Seraphine (more development with Kai than with mc, pissed me off reading it) > Claire (we haven't seen her in 20 years and mc just ignores her) > Lyonna (despite her having one of the best designs, she has no development at all).
