I got a feeling that bearers of the shards might become sacrifices for the Crimson Spire later, with the dawn shard being a center piece for something like a cleansing. Thus Neph needs a few strong bearers to make it all the way to the Spire.

You can only get them on the app now, qidian removed them from rewards on website.
