I didn't expect him to consider that
Honestly that was relatively down to earth for an anime speech. Less cringe than a lot of the stuff he says casually
He specifically wished for it as a cursed technique though. Is this a retcon?
Super cringey when the mc in an insert story starts trying to predict the future with tropes. Way worse if they're successful...
Stop saying glazes like it's a word people other than twitch girls use
tiktok slang is really hard to take seriously. Who says this...
That's a mature outlook for a self insert character to have. I hope he's right and his influence makes his brother a decent person
Everything about this story is pretty great. It's easily one of the best fanfics I've seen on this site. I like how Tai Lung is portrayed as still kind of vicious and villainous despite trying to be a better person. And his main motivation is a lot more vain than just wanting to help people. But at the same time you still feel for him because he really didn't do anything bad enough to deserve being paralyzed for 20 years. But the story also doesn't portray any of those who think badly of him as total assholes either. There's a surprising amount of nuance here that you wouldn't expect from a fanfic. Tied with Traces of Spring for my favorite Kung Fu Panda story.
I want to like this but there's such a thing as too much wish fulfillment. Like it feels like this guy just has infinite wishes and is super proud despite never actually doing anything for himself. He doesn't even draw the manga he's copying himself. He wished for the power to just spawn it with a devil fruit that has no drawbacks. I mean I can enjoy wish fulfillment insert stories sometimes but this guy isn't even willing to put a trace of effort into what he specifically wanted to do in this world. He's also got high combat abilities and connections to Roger's crew and his "system" is more like a fairy godmother that grants his wishes instead of rewarding effort. Honestly I kind of want to skip through the parts with the mc and just read people's reactions to the story because that is still kind of interesting but so far the vast majority of the story is the MC doing things with ease and patting himself on the back about his 'accomplishments' despite literally everything being handed to him. And reading the reviews makes it seem like that isn't going to change...
I'm really loving this story. I can never predict what way it will go. Never expected Shen to be like this. It takes a lot to make a genocidal tyrant feel relatable and sympathetic. It was easy to root for tai lung because he never really did anything that bad. Nothing that was confirmed anyway. He destroyed the valley but there was no mention of a body count.
Tbh I've always hated this assumption. I've seen it in a lot of insert fanfics where the mc decides that because there's Naruto world or a Harry Potter world that must mean every work of fiction is real in some reality. It's such a a huge leap in logic that it doesn't really count as logic at all. And it technically makes every plot hole ever made canon to the story... I guess it doesn't really matter in this case though. If his power is basically small scale reality bending then it doesn't actually matter if those other worlds are real or not. He's just using them to get ideas and visualize things better.
