I feel like it would be better if you put it like this. Heat is energy and the essence of lower the temperature is to transfer the energy(heat) somewhere else. Your air conditioner works by sending a cold liquid inside that is force through a very tiny hole. the pressure from which it goes through that hole causes it to go from a liquid to a gas. The now gas absorbs the heat in the area around it to compensate. Which is then sent to the outside part of your unit which then cools that gas into a liquid releasing that heat back into the air outside. thin of how water is in the states of being a solid, liqiud and gas. I tried to keep this simple and coherent, but look up molecules to and how they react to to high energy states and lower energy states.
