Future research society: Human run society that knows about the domain creature’s control, and is working with them to try and etch out what they can do to give humanity as much of a fighting chance as they can without crossing the line. They also try and get information from the domain controlled places to get advancements to try and use their own tech against them that obviously failed in the end. Or they are a group that thinks they’ll lose anyway so they’re trying to at least let some survive.

I was interested in the way the world was going to be displayed, which was interesting, but the main character ruined the whole novel for me. Depicting him as “crazy” when really he’s just an idiot wanting to get is rocks off with a power trip fantasy.

I think the author keeps forgetting about the powers the MC has. Made a big deal about the bloodlines but they are never relevent after giving him 20-30 other powers.

So the theory thus far: The power from the star brought back things that used to exist on this planet and has always been dorment. When they woke back up they noticed humans, which had taken some of the power for themselves being bugs in a set program that was used to jumpstart the powers of the creatures that lay sleeping. Humans are a variable that wasn't ever meant to be part of the equation, but the things brought out of their coma by a sudden loss of energy had been asleep for so long that a dominate species arose while they were gone. Unique enetites like vanguard, the MC, and the Bug lady, are the players while everyone else is just chess pieces since they utilize a power that originates from a small part of one of the other players. The astroid probably being one of the other players dying. Posting this just to look back and see how wrong I was later.
