Basically, the lead creator for the anime was drunk most of the time coming up with ideas for the original series, which explains why in the original ending he planned to make all the Pokemon fight back against the trainers led by Pikachu, but he died before he could even start making the episode and that is why Pokemon lasted as long as it did. - Joutan2mthCommented
