Aside from what was already said, there's no way that sort of expenditure on a mere rank 3 elder would be justified.
I'm very skeptical that someone can just rush up to this guy faster than he can activate his suicide gu. It's supposed to be difficult to take people's gu worms because they can self destruct them with a thought, and a gu that can't do the same for suicide isn't worth much. Plus if he's resolved to suicide he should also be destroying all his other gu instead of leaving them intact.
Is the name misleading? Diplomacy sounds like an extremely politically oriented hall.
Clever solution, have a cover up and behind that cover up a convenient explanation that paints him in an acceptable light and hides the real secrets. The only flaw is if his grandfather figures out that the supposed reason is also fake based on his own attempt at hiding the scene.
It's not too dark for the gu world but I'd think this is the sort of thing that would be kept under wraps for the righteous path. If his political enemies found out about it it probably would mean damaging his prospects at clan leadership. Might also cause some discord with Wang Mei.
Just Longhua Mountain since Shan is mountain?
That's 7 people mentioned including Chen Wei over the last couple of paragraphs. Where's the 8th mentioned at the start?
If they're so close, how is it that her personality change isn't noticed by this maid?
There could be any number of answers. To jump to one sole explanation about God is what idiots do.
Promising start. Rare to find a decent RI fanfic but I like the way the part with FY was handled. Fairly unique and it feels in line with the spirit of the original up to this point. A lot of fanfics falter at doing that over a longer period of time, however, so it'll be a challenge that this one may not succeed at. Even so, a promising beginning. Things I'd like to see more of: - the MC's motivations/goals beyond getting stronger (eg. his thoughts on the righteous/demonic philosophy, Ren Zu stories, thoughts on growing his harem, does he intend to keep many girls as trusted companions or just tools he readily discards, any other hobbies he might explore in the gu world, etc) - Fang Yuan so far hasn't sensed anything fishy about the MC. Might be believable in the short term but will have to be addressed at some point, and I hope the author will be able to do justice to Fang Yuan's character when that time comes in terms of the challenge the MC faces (imo, the biggest challenge of any RI fanfic is having the original to match up to).
Good thing you're not the MC. If you could think of such an obvious solution then clearly the church can too. You think they are going to set up a fortress along a border and be totally helpless against a flying mage? If anything that mage is going to be the most obvious target in the world.
Just him making a game terminology reference.
