A Realm at War

In the ancient world of Chatwan, the remnants of a once-mighty empire struggle to reclaim their lost glory. To the east lies the Reman Empire, a proud successor to the Old Empire that once ruled the known world. The Old Empire's collapse had been sudden and catastrophic, splintering the vast realm into countless fragments. In the west, powerful feudal lords, commanders, and rulers seized the opportunity to carve out their own kingdoms and domains, creating a patchwork of rival territories. The east, however, fell under the sway of the Bastard Born, descendants of the Old Empire's imperial dynasty, who now rule the fractured remnants with an iron fist. These rulers, though not of pure blood, carried the weight of their forebears' legacy and ambition, striving to restore the empire to its former grandeur. Between these two worlds of east and west lies a vast ocean, dotted with numerous islands that serve as a natural barrier, separating the two regions. The treacherous waters are navigable only by the most skilled sailors, and even they find the journey perilous. Yet, there exists a narrow land bridge in the north, the North Cross, a frozen and inhospitable route that offers the sole terrestrial passage between the east and the west. As the Reman Empire looks to the horizon, their eyes are fixed on the lands beyond the ocean, lands ripe for conquest and subjugation. The Emperor's court buzzes with whispers of ancient prophecies and tales of forgotten treasures, fueling the ambition of those who dare to dream of a unified empire once more. However, the western lords are not blind to the threat from the east. They have fortified their borders and amassed armies, ready to defend their hard-won territories. In this time of impending conflict, heroes will rise, alliances will be forged and broken, and the fate of Chatwan will be decided.
