That's right, how dare the author forget Makino!
The previous paragraph says "landing softly" but in this one it's fierce and loud?! Make up your damn mind.

I imagined that as a Scooby Doo dialogue. "Raeeve!" LoL
EMT training includes being brutally honest in novel reviews. The premise is interesting but the way the novel is written/executed is gag inducing. Other readers will tell you that the characters are always distrustful of the MC but let me tell you that it's the MC's own damn fault. He always over explains. So much so that even the most naive person least capable of paranoia will start to doubt him because he always explains himself and his actions. At least that's my impression of the MC. Well it's either that or the author likes to repeat himself so damn much OR he/she used AI to write this and didn't even bother proofreading the damn thing. Sad to say I gave up at chapter 26. Want a bit of a preview? Here are the top most repetitive lines in the novel, ranked from the most used to being used just several times but the content is disgustingly similar, until I dropped this at chapter 26 that is. Mind you, the ones listed below aren't exactly what was said in the novel but the general idea, you get my drift. #1: Whenever anyone is suspicious about the MC's capabilities (part 1), "EMT training includes... [non-medical related skill]. I also trained as an Army Reserve, just some weekend warrior stuff." - *used almost every other chapter, if not every. So much so that I ran it as a recurring joke in the chapter comments, like if the MC was doubted of being too lucky, I would write a comment saying EMT training includes developing your luck to the extreme, or something like that. So now you know what my review's opening line meant. #2: Whenever anyone is suspicious about the MC's capabilities (part 2), "Paranoia. You notice things and develop skills when you're constantly expecting the worst." -Not repeated as much as #1 but close enough. #3: Other characters' thoughts whenever MC does something diplomatic, "This guy/the kid's got leadership potential, calm, collected, tactical thinking, yada yada yada..." - also not repeated as much as #1 and #2 but enough times as well as being disgustingly similar to each dialogue regardless of who's speaking/thinking it. #4: Merle "The kid's got secrets but at least he's using it to protect people instead of exploiting/using them." - got repeated 3 or 4 times to my knowledge, until chapter 26, and has almost the exact same words each time. #5: Daryl "Boy's got a gift for [whatever the hell the MC did that impressed him]. That's useful for staying alive." - got repeated 2 or 3 times to my knowledge, until chapter 26, and has almost the exact same words each time. Trust me, it's noticable. It's practically shoved in your face with the amount of times they're repeated.
Yes yes, he's the greatest. I am seriously starting to gag, and I'm only at chapter 26?
Daryl: What a gifted child
