as a martial instructor I only reach 11-12 m/s. I believe profesional boxer could reach 15 m/s. And a fast short puncher in several traditional style could achieve more than that (not in fighting condition). For fiction standard I believe it's not amazingly fast

yes the power come from the limb of bow. But metal,,, you know choose flexible than it would bend and become less precise. Choose more robust than it will operate outside the plastic range and won't return to its initial condition. Well it just me to picky. I thought if the string from monster ligament or fiber from some plant which you know have better poisson ratio for this application. Buat yeah, sorry if I spoil the story. It's just me complaining too much.
