They worked in different directions after their early split, and most of Tesla’s truly groundbreaking ideas came after he left Edison. People like to paint Edison as a villain and Tesla as a victim genius, but reality is a lot more nuanced. Edison was a businessman and system-builder; Tesla was a brilliant inventor, but not always practical. Simplifying it to 'Edison stole everything' just ignores actual history.
