i think the "plot" is making his stupid too "cliche". if he dont want to do sport, he shouldn't have pick a shoes that make him efficiency in sport. he should have ask for the memory enhance item if he really want to "study". the "plot" want him to get the shoes just because the plot want him to get some money from the jumping reward, as well as putting him in some funny situation. that is called writing backward. it think about a situation that is funny then work backward to make it happen. it lazy and not really creative

this is quite strange. if he has ask for the memory item, he shouldn't have this "problem". or even better, if he just dont use special shoes all the time no one would find out. i think he doing this on purpose, and i dont know why he chose to do such round about way
