What a waste... The advantage of being affiliated with government lies in access to things. Bake into the contract a responsibility to help him access sealed records, and find and acquire stored relics, materials, illegal items, and obscure information/documents. Right now it won't mean much, the level of support will depend on how much they value him and right now even the basic contract doesn't have their approval, but I still think it's important. Although vague and with no enforcement power, having something like that in the contract is a "seed." It has the potential to transform "procure x for me" from "a favor he's asking" to "submitting an official petition." The difference between the two is akin to an upward and downward slope. Attaching the responsibility for reasonable miscellaneous external support to the job description can be as little as paying for some normal bullets at the low end, but at the high end can help at least a little bit even with stuff like "requisitioning a cultural artifact from a museum to use."

If you're gonna act like you're cautious and pragmatic, buy a supernatural tier dagger already. Even with the pistol, your combat style clearly leans toward close quarter combat, and your martial arts techniques support daggers. Unless you unlock a burning yang palm sub technique or something, your fists alone lack the power to do more than divert and stun true supernatural beings, you need a secondary offensive supernatural type attack other than your pistol for flexibility. I imagine it would be easier to find antique blades associated with monster hunting than a gun! Even if you couldn't find one quickly enough due to lack of internet, you could apply your enhancement methods to a normal knife.

In the first place, that clothing was completely unsuitable for her needs. It would be suited for a party or a formal event, but she would have been much better served with a couple sets of casual but fashionable layered clothing. You expect her to walk through the slums and school wearing heels? You expect someone with a curse of misfortune to not end up with a broken ankle almost immediately wearing heels? I'm not that into fashion, but my first thought is that a thin and light baggy zippered hoodie would suit her. Baggy isn't always bad, it would help her feel more comfortable with the transition and complement a casual-retro slightly hipster look with her glasses. In normal usage, the hoodie would be open and loose on the shoulders, exposing inner layers that better show off her form, but when zipped up and hood raised it becomes like a suit of armour keeping strangers at bay walking through the slums. That is the level of consideration I expect you to have if you want to play fairy godmother. She's not Cinderella, and she doesn't need the ballroom treatment for one magical night, she needs something that will enhance but properly fit in with her daily life as it is.
